"Ah, j'adore la mer...si belle, si profonde...si pleine des poissons..." --Kevin Kline, French Kiss

Bonjour from Nantes tout le monde!

We arrived yesterday after spending a random day in Paris. After waking up at 4am to catch the early train to the City of Lights, we arrived at the Gare Montparnasse to find all the lockers were closed due to "raisons de securite".

Merde.

So we spent the day not really doing anything because we had all our bags with us.

Oh well. Our first day in Nantes more than made up for it.

After sleeping in and having a leisurely breakfast, Lionel took us to the beach in La Baule. We got in a nice walk and a nice sunburn, then got back in the car for a drive around the "Cote Sauvage".

Friggin' gorgeous.

Tonight we had an equally amazing dinner outside, then joined Louise to watch Harry Potter in French. That was just weird. Although they did do a decent job making the French voices similar, which is more than I can see for the dubbed over episodes of "Friends."

But in spite of their best efforts, there is just no substitute for Alan Rickman's voice. Rowr.

Tomorrow we go for a pique nique and a chateau. Apparently Lionel took me there when I was little but I have no recollection. We'll see if I remember tomorrow. It's funny, every time I come out here, little things like a smell or a site brings back my whole childhood. It's really surreal. And cool.

Just call me Marcel Proust.
